ER316 Welding Wire uses are as varied as the sectors they support, led mainly by the aerospace, railway, construction and automotive fields along with petrochemical, nuclear, medical, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Nuclear, Thermal Power plants, Paper and Pulp, marine and mining, etc.
ER316 welding wire, composed of austenitic stainless steel, shows strong resistance to galvanic corrosion when matched with similar or compatible metals. Nevertheless, as with all metals, it can be prone to galvanic corrosion if incorrectly matched with more noble or less noble metals in the presence of an electrolyte. Careful material selection and design are essential to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.
